They had a previous project that had some really interesting hand-drawn animation tech. That partnership might be the reason fans suspected, or perhaps hoped, that Playtonic would be developing a new game in the Banjo-Kazooie franchise.
Alas, the developer dashed those dreams in a statement released in November. For now, Banjo-Kazooie fans will have to wait patiently and hope for a new game in the future. It's been a very long wait for a new title starring the bird and bear, but at least fans have Super Smash Bros.
Ultimate to tide them over, for now! Do you want to see a new Banjo-Kazooie game? Games from Rare for the 3DS are very likely. If there is another Star Fox adventures game like dinosaur planet…………. I will kill everything. Its a good game but such a shitty sequel i dont even consider it a main game. Microsoft owns the console IP. After all, they are half the reason why the N64 is legendary. No more remakes, your an idiot look an zelda ocarina of the time that remake is fantastic for the 3DS they should bring out all the old games.
Hello there people of the internet and hopefully someone from Microsoft or Nintendo reading through forums. I am hoping that someone will listen and agree with me when I say, the sales and the enjoyment received from reworked Nintendo 64 games on the 3DS would be phenomenally higher than the Kinect games on xbox. I do admit I totally enjoyed playing Banjo-Kazooie and Tooie in p on the xbox.
It was in fact those games that I bought the xbox for. Everybody wants n64 games! It is fantastic! I definitely think Retro has the potential to make very awesome games of practically any genre after playing the Metroid Prime games and Donkey Kong Country Returns. I want a new Banjo Kazooie game. And for those of you who think they shouldnt have any more remakes on 3DS…… Go Fuck yourself!
And whats wrong with remaking classic games from the N64 or Gamecube onto the 3DS anyways??? And when I saw the trailer for a new Banjo all those years ago, I saved up my money and got myself an Xbox Yes, Banjo was the only reason I got an Xbox Two possibilitys come to mind: Rare is working on a 3DS title alongside, or just the sports title.
In the end, their choices and decisions are what the fans and gamers get. Their old team is no longer together, but we will always have the memories; Ultimate 3DS looks like a good place to start. I would so buy this!! Honestly the only thing I would love to see if Rare did make a Banjo-Kazooie game for the 3DS, is if it were a remake of the first two Banjo-Kazooie games. Honestly in my opinion, I just hope they make a Banjo-Kazooie game for the and have the gameplay like Banjo-Kazooie and Tooie.
Not a shitty spin off. I think we should start a petition to get those games onto the 3DS. Nintendo are money grabbing jews. I mean look at all the bullshit crap games they have.
Also the extended DS shit. Any agreements? I really hope they bring out Kazooie and Tooie and make another one for 3DS. Not only are these one of my favorite adventure games but I loved the music that Grant Kirkhope did. But Grant left Rare bout three or four years ago.
If they make a Banjo 3Dsi please bring back Allllllllllll the original Banjo-Kazooie designers so it will be just as good as a spin off like Tooie was. Sequels usually suck but Tooie was a perfect Sequel. Sony missed a grand opportunity to beat Microsoft by releasing the PS3 expensive; sure they have a lot of sales now, but they could have taken away millions of now-XBOX owners….
Ps3 was crammed with exspencive Hardware and new technology tis the only reason it was soo exspencive. Heck yeah!! I found myself more bored throughout this gen then any other generation ever. I kept thinking is it video games that are getting bored or is it my XBOX Star fox adventures was fantastic. You my friend are thinking way too hard. Real Nintendo fans just have a good taste in games with good gameplay, good storylines, and good music.
Its sad how people think of us like this. Plus Nintendo girls always go for us, and they can be pretty damn hot…so deal with it. You obviously started gaming during the gamecube era, and i agree with sunshine and melee hell i prefer melee over the original and brawl but we are talking about rare, they are not the jaggernut they use to be post N64, star fox for the GC was good, but nothing close to their classics. They released basically what they had and added star fox characters and themes.
Definatly Microsoft. I think Microsoft did that on purpose, they knew they make good games and they wanted to make the games worse. Why they have to make stupid shitty Kinect games? What were they thinking!? I just want Donkey Kong 64 on virtual console. Ya, that game was pretty fun my cousin is the one who introduced me to it; once I got over the fact that it looked like a game made for 5 year olds, I found it a pretty good game. But I can hope they become 1 again!!
How dare you put Nintendo as one of the suspects on this atrocity! Obviously Microsoft put his evil and capitalistic tentacles over Rare and destroy the best developer studio in the world. Nintendo play his part as a passive agent by leeting this happens. While under Nintendo they range from fun and amazing.
I enjoyed its a good game when you get past the stupid sound FX and story line, and the weird ass names xP. Rare created its own path of ruin. Nintendo Expected them to stay, they were doing so good there, diddy kong racing, bandjo kazooie, and etc but they made the choice and became greedy when microsoft oftered more money. To me I think nintendo knew that with their leaving it was going to hurt them in the end…..
Just look at what they done in mircosoft, almost nothing. None of them, rare was already going downhill by the time they left nintendo, with their slow development of average games, also, nintendo found retro studios to compensate so its all good :p, rare just killed themselves, external companies have nothing to do with it. Rare is to blame.
You need only 5 minutes of Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts to realize this. To protect microsoft from devastation,we MUST buy all of the third party developers and first p. Its a shame Rare rocked on the N64 i would love to have seen Goldeneye, one of the best games ever on Wii U. Oh shit. Why did you post this?? You should only post real news!! Can I run your site for you? The misleading paragraph is horrible. Microsoft just want money. From Zelda to Pokemon, the purists are slowly destroying their beloved franchises.
I think Microsoft killed Rare they hav so many great games on the nintendo 64 super nes And nes! Rare had a sequel for it but Microsoft cancelled it why? Cause their pussies by now we couldve played that amazing game on gamecube or even wii!!!!! Please explain…? The brothers Stamper were the ones who were onthe forefront of all the great games mentioned above, after they left….
Viva Pinata…. Rare was a sinking ship. Rare dissolved itself because the top staff gradually left them to head for other companies. Neither Nintendo or Microsoft is to blame, but you could still wonder if perhaps this would not have happened had Nintendo never sold Rare to Microsoft.
In my opinion, the only way they could possibly save their best loved franchises would be to hand over the rights to a Company such as Retro Studios, who have already done a great job bringing back Donkey Kong Country.
It was obviously Microsoft. How ironic. But Retro Studios did it better anyway :p. I want an actual creditable critique. I enjoyed the game-play of it, but I think a lot of fans were expecting a Banjo Kazooie follow-up, platformer, adventure, puzzles etc, perhaps with more story sustenance as well rather than Banjo vs Gruntilda in vehicles.
Which is not to say that all sequels in a game series should be exactly the same, things get stale that way. Yeah, Nuts and Bolts was a big risk.
